The objective of the young toddler room curriculum is to take the skills they have learned and mastered from the infant room and bring them to a higher level of their understanding. The children in this class are learning to communicate, but not always through sound and words. Encouragement of visual stimulation of colors and shapes are incorporated daily through sorting objects, mixing colors and encouraging manipulative play to further their understanding of the exciting world around them. The transition to the young toddler room is very entertaining and exciting; the children have developed distinct personalities and are no longer on individualized schedules but in groups. They are developing the skills to follow a group setting and trust to new staff members that are unfamiliar. The growth at this age is evident on a daily basis and is very encouraging for the child and their teacher.
